Indefinite Hiatus

I am saddened to say that I will have to put my blog on an indefinite hiatus due to the fact that I currently have more than I can handle on my plate. I want to thank everyone that has ever visited this blog. I hope I have pleasured your eardrums.

You may continue to follow me on Twitter, where I will still post song recommendations and links to any other cool music related news/songs/etc. I will also continue to be a guest-blogger on Pretty Much Amazing! The Music Blog.

Margot & the Nuclear So & So's - Skeleton Key

And I miss you less and less everyday
This stream of whiskey helps to wash you away

I admit with lyrics like that this song sounds a bit emo, but I assure you it's not.
Margot & the Nuclear So & So's are a group of 8 from Indianapolis, named after Gwyneth Paltrow's character in Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenebaums. Their first album, Dust of Retreat, is pure indie rock w/ some elements of "chamber pop." Seriously though, who cares about genres? Anyway, I'm a sucker for cellos and they got their very own cellist! That's partly what got me hooked on "Skeleton Key."

This year they released two albums after some problems determing track lists with their label. Animal! was released on vinyl and as an online download, while Not Animal was released as a CD as well. Each album features 12 tracks, 5 of which appear on both albums including a song called "Hello Vagina." According to their myspace page, the band recommends listening to Animal! first. The band created a video for "W's Last Night in Office" set to "As Tall As Cliffs" which is also featured on both releases. Check it out, it's pretty funny.
